Michael C. Hall & Vera Farmiga To Share 'Love, Scotch And Death'

Michael C. Hall has had no problem being a TV star. He broke out in “Six Feet Under” and currently leads the popular “Dexter,” but his moves into film have been less successful. “Gamer” was terrible and “Peep World” never lived up to the promise it had on paper. But he’s hoping that James Manos Jr., the man who adapted Jeff Lindsay‘s “Dexter,” will have the key to break him into something worthwhile.

Deadline reports that Hall and Vera Farmiga are set to star in “Love, Scotch and Death,” a wacky sounding, semi-autobiographical film. Manos wrote and originally titled the script “The Slow and Complete Decompensation of Jim Manos” and it follows “a rather bizarre week in the man’s life. After returning from a stressful vacation, he discovers his parents have died of natural causes together in bed, which forces him to navigate his way past an unsympathetic funeral director, his bewildered children and manic wife, an eccentric priest and some over-sexed neighbors. There is also an arrest for assault and the death of his wife’s beloved dog.”

This is one of those movies where everything is gonna have to come together right and it will have to nail the tone for it to work. Manos will make his directing debut on the film so at any rate, he’ll be able to make sure all the elements are conceived just the way he wants. Filming will begin in November after Hall finishes up the sixth season of “Dexter.”
