‘A House Of Dynamite’: Kathryn Bigelow Netflix Military Thriller Heads To Theaters In October, Then Streaming On October 24

The Oscar-winning director of “The Hurt Locker,” Kathryn Bigelow, hasn’t given us a narrative feature film since 2017’s “Detroit,” but is finally making a grand return at Netflix with her latest effort, a military thriller titled “A House of Dynamite.”

In the pic, which is both heading to theaters and the streaming service in the fall, we will see a story that focuses on a mystery surrounding a rogue missile launched at the U.S., as our protagonists attempt to figure out who is behind the attack and how to best react to it as well.

Here is the brief logline for “A House of Dynamite” via Netflix:

“When a single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States, a race begins to determine who is responsible and how to respond.”

Not only is there a title and some brief information as we have a rundown of the film’s impressive cast that consists of Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabe Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, Jason Clarke, Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Kyle Allen, and Kaitlyn Dever.

Bigelow is no stranger to the world of military stories with “The Hurt Locker” focusing on a bomb technician with a death wish, “Zero Dark Thirty” focusing on the manhunt for Osama Bin Laden and his death at the hands of the U.S. military, her lesser-known submarine historical drama “K-19: The Widowmaker,” starring Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson.

Netflix has also revealed to us that “A House of Dynamite” is going to be getting a limited theatrical release sometime in October and then has an exclusive streaming debut on October 24. Stay tuned on that theatrical date, as when that is announced, we’re certainly going to share that information.

We likely aren’t too far removed from Netflix sharing a trailer and still images, as many of us can’t wait to see Bigelow’s work on the big screen again.
