Nick Frost & Simon Pegg To Star In & Co-Write New Amazon Paranormal Comedy Series 'Truth Seekers'

The on-screen duo featured in Edgar Wright’s now-classic films “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz” is re-teaming yet again. But this time, actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are hitting the small screen, with a new paranormal comedy series on Amazon Prime Video titled “Truth Seekers.”

According to Variety, Amazon has teamed up with Frost, Pegg, and their Stolen Picture production company to work on a new series that will see paranormal investigators get in a bit over their head. “Truth Seekers” will be co-written by Pegg and Frost, along with Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz. Jim Field Smith is on board to direct.

“Simon, Miles and I, and everyone at Stolen Picture, are incredibly happy to be making ‘Truth Seekers’ with our new partners, Amazon Prime Video,” Frost said. “It’s been nothing but a joyride in seeing this mad tale of paranormal conspiracy unfold in all its understated brilliance. Amazon’s commitment and support of the show, and of original programming generally, showed us that we couldn’t be collaborating with a bigger or better team.”

“Truth Seekers” will star Frost as one half of a paranormal, ghosthunting duo that films their exploits for an online channel. However, things begin to spiral out of control when their experiences become more dangerous and deadly, as they uncover a vast conspiracy. Pegg will have a role in the series, but it’s unknown exactly what the role will entail. Sadly, it doesn’t appear that he’ll be the other half of the ghosthunting pair.

“Nick and I are delighted that ‘Truth Seekers’ has found a home with Amazon Prime Video,” said Pegg. “We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special. These are truly exciting times for television, and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.”

No word on when we might get “Truth Seekers” on Amazon, but clearly, this is a project we’ll want to keep an eye on.
