Noah Centineo's 'Masters Of The Universe' Pushed To 2020, Distressing Teens & Middle-Aged Toy Collectors Worldwide

If you listen closely, you’ll hear the combined cries of middle-aged men and teenage girls from around the world. Why? Because it’s been announced that the upcoming adaptation of popular ‘80s toy line/cartoon “Masters of the Universe” has been pushed back from later this year until 2020. That means that we still are at least a year away from heartthrob Noah Centineo showing us what he’s got as the popular character He-Man.

As reported by Exhibitor Relations, “Masters of the Universe” has moved from its previously-announced release date of December 28, 2019, to “TBD 2020.” The funny part is that this is probably the most obvious news you’ll hear all day.

It was recently announced that Noah Centineo was likely going to star in the film, but outside of that, there hasn’t been a hint of major news regarding the film in months. In fact, it was almost exactly a year ago, today, that ‘Band Of Robbers’ directors Aaron and Adam Nee were hired to helm the highly-anticipated film. Since then, not a peep.

Centineo is probably best known for his starring roles in last year’s wildly successful “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before…” and “Sierra Burgess is a Loser.” Since then, he’s been one of the most sought-after actors, due to his massive following, and has recently released “The Perfect Date” on Netflix and will be seen in the “Charlie’s Angels” reboot/sequel later this year.

And you only need a rudimentary knowledge of filmmaking to know that it takes more than 8 months to create a blockbuster, effects-heavy film. This is especially true when there’s just one guy in the cast and we don’t even really have confirmation that the Nee Brothers are actually still aboard the film. So yeah, at this point, stick to pencil when you write down the new 2020 projected release date because right now, this has all the makings of a project that might be pushed back even further.

Of course, this is all wild speculation, as the studio could be in the middle of a casting frenzy, as we speak. If that’s the case, then there’s a strong chance you could be looking at a mid-to-late-2020 release for “Masters of the Universe.”
