Quentin Tarantino Promises To "Drop The Mic" After 2 More Films, Tell Everyone To "Match That Sh*t"

For a good while now, Quentin Tarantino has declared he’ll make two more films, and then bow out of making features, leaving him with 10 movies to his name, and by his account, a legacy that won’t be ruined by staying in the game and making lesser work when he’s older. So, what will he do with his time instead? Tarantino has talked about writing books and plays, and trying other things, perhaps not unlike the mysterious 1970s project he’s currently cooking up. And in case you had any doubt, Tarantino is fully committed to eventually quitting.

“Drop the mic. Boom. Tell everybody, ‘Match that shit,'” he said humbly at Adobe Max about his retirement plans (via THR).

Indeed, the director has a high estimation of his achievements (and those to come) and says that he hopes when he’s all done, he’s not just remembered for his movies, but even more.

“Hopefully, the way I define success when I finish my career is that I’m considered one of the greatest filmmakers that ever lived. And going further, a great artist, not just filmmaker,” he added.

Well, as always, time will tell, but Tarantino is certainly already raising the bar of expectation. But it seems he’s already prepared to revel in the accolades of his future work, but let’s hope he doesn’t get too far ahead of himself.
