'Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker' D23 Teaser: Does Rey Break Bad In The Skywalker Saga Finale?

If you had any doubt that “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is the end of the beloved Skywalker Saga, then the new footage that premiered at D23, and is now available to watch, makes sure that you realize this is the end. But even though Lucasfilm hits you over the head with nostalgia in the new look at the film, there’s plenty of new footage to get you excited, including a tease about one character perhaps embracing the Dark Side.

Though you might get excited about the footage’s two-minute length, Lucasfilm pads the length with plenty of famous scenes from the first eight films. However, the studio more than makes up for it with quick glances at new footage, culminating in a shot of our hero Rey sporting a black hood, a double-sided red lightsaber, and looking like she’s completely flipped and isn’t the hopeful, caring character that we’ve come to love over the last two films. Is it a dream? An alternate future? Or does Rey fully switch sides in the upcoming film? Unfortunately, we have no clue.

With ‘Rise of Skywalker’ arriving less than four months from today, Lucasfilm and Disney have done a great job of not giving anything away about ‘Rise of Skywalker.’ Outside of the very basics, fans really don’t have any idea about what is going to happen in the ninth ‘Episode’ of the Skywalker Saga. Hopefully, the studio keeps that going through its marketing campaign, similar to how “Avengers: Endgame” saved all the good stuff and didn’t spoil anything.
