DreamWorks' animated feature "Mr. Peabody & Sherman," based on the popular cartoon series, has announced more names for its voice cast. Stephen Colbert, Allison Janney, Ellie Kemper, Ariel Winter and Stephen Tobolowsky will all be joining Ty Burrell and Max Charles, who'll voice the titular characters respectively. Colbert plays Mr. Peabody's nemesis, Paul Peterson; Janney as his wife, Paula; and Winter their daughter. A November 8, 2013 release has also been set for the Rob Minkoff ("The Lion King") film. Meanwhile, with "The Bitter Pill" wrapping up and "Magic Mike" headed into theaters, Steven Soderbergh is getting ready to shoot his final film (for now): the Liberace biopic "Behind The Candelabra." With Michael Douglas and Matt Damon slated for the lead roles, the supporting cast is coming together with Dan Aykroyd signing on most recently. Upping the class factor, legendary actress, Academy Award nominee and notable movie memorabilia collector Debbie Reynolds has now joined the film. She'll be playing Liberace's "imposing but frail mother" and working opposite Douglas, the two should generate some sparks. Shooting begins on the pic this summer. [Variety]
Resident badass Ian McShane, who played Al Swearengen on "Deadwood," hasn't exactly reached the villainous heights after the end of that HBO show but the actor has been delving into higher profile pics ('On Stranger Tides,' "Snow White & The Huntsman") which will hopefully see him earn a juicy leading role soon. In the meantime, McShane has set up a gear change with the Brit rom-com "Cuban Fury," in which he'll play a dancing instructor. Based on an idea by star Nick Frost, the film follows a down-on-his-luck man who reignites his passion for salsa dancing thanks to a newfound love for his American boss. Rashida Jones will play the boss with Chris O'Dowd and Olivia Colman co-starring and James Griffiths making his directorial debut. [THR]
