‘The ‘Burbs’ Trailer: Keke Palmer Stars In Peacock’s Series Remake Of Late ’80s Horror Comedy

Need some Keke Palmer to watch before the actress stars in Boots Riley‘s “I Love Boosters,” which has its world premiere at SXSW 2026 as the fest’s opening film? Peacock has that covered with “The ‘Burbs,” a TV series remake of the 1989 horror comedy starring Tom Hanks.

It’s Palmer leading the way in the series, though, as one half of a young couple who move into the husband’s childhood house. That’s awkward enough, but the strange new neighbor next door may turn a bad situation outright sinister…

Here’s an official trailer for “The ‘Burbs,” courtesy of Peacock:

Inspired by the 1989 horror-comedy film of the same name and set in present-day suburbia, THE ‘BURBS follows a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.

Along with Palmer, “The ‘Burbs” also stars Jack Whitehall, Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar.

Celeste Hughey serves as creator on “The ‘Burbs,” and also writes the series with Rachel Shukert. Hughey and Shukert also serve as executive producers on the show with Palmer. Other executive producers include Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, and Aimee Carlson via Fuzzy Door, and Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus via Imagine Entertainment. Nzingha Stewart directs all eight episodes of “The ‘Burbs” and also executive produces. Dana Olsen is also on board a co-executive producer.
