'The Man in the Hat' Trailer Takes An Idyllic Trip Through France

Some movies cram a whole load of exposition into their trailer — “The Man in the Hat” is not one of those movies. The upcoming film manages to tell a story in just a minute and a half with music and meaningful glances.

This reflects the movie itself, as it’s driven more by musical cues than dialogue. “The Man in the Hat” follows the titular character as he journeys through France armed with a photograph of an unknown woman. Suddenly, five men start pursuing him and he needs to figure out their motivation and how he can lose them. “The Man in the Hat” stars Ciarán Hinds (“The Woman in Black“), Stephen Dillane (“The Hours“), Maïwenn (“High Tension“), and Sasha Hails (“Wonderful You”). It was co-written and directed by John-Paul Davidson (“The Sweatbox“) and Stephen Warbeck in his writing and directorial debut.
