‘The Origin Of The World’: Joe Alwyn Reportedly Reuniting With Brady Corbet Alongside Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender & Selena Gomez

After the acclaimed success of Brady Corbet‘s stunning post-WWII artitetch immigrant archiect opus “The Brualist” (earned Adrien Brody his second Best Actor Oscar statue) it would be an understatement that his next feature effort “The Origin of The World” would be one that is going to be closely watched by all. Even more so when Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett (“Nightmare Alley,” “Black Bag”), Michael Fassbender (“The Killer”), and Selena Gomez (“Only Murders In The Building,” “Emilia Perez”) joined up to play landing lead roles in it.

Now, there is going to be a reunion of sorts as a casting report from Nexus Point News (becoming a place covering exciting casting news and various project updates) is claiming that actor Joe Alwyn, who had worked with Corbet on the aformentoned “The Brutalist” is circling a part in the filmmaker’s follow-up as talks are underway.

Details have been super scarce for the project but Corbet has talked-up that the feature (vaugely will involve the occult and American mysticism, spanning multiple decades) will be “X-Rated” and will be shot entirely on 70mm cameras, the former could suggest extreme violence and sexuality being invovled to earn such a rating, as that isn’t often is handed out to modern movies unless directors are being intentionally shocking with their material.

Hopefully, in the coming months we’ll end up learning more concrete plot and character beats. We’re expecting even more high-profile talent being linked or confirmed for the project (mostly going to be set in the 1970s), given talent likely lining up around the block to work with the writer/director.

They’re also saying that production on “The Origin of The World” is expected to start sometime in September, which means that Brady Corbet could have his main lineup for his cast secured by toward the end of the summer.
