The return of the U.S. edition of “The Traitors,” the reigning Emmy Reality Competition Series winner, is almost upon us. Today, Peacock released a new trailer for Season 4 that teases more backstabbing, more “Real Housewives” veterans being targeted for elimination, Michael Rapaport being, well, angry, Lisa Rinna scheming, and Ronald Funches bringing some much-needed comic relief. Oh, and even more fantastic outfits from host Alan Cumming.
The streamer also revealed Season 4 will kick off with the first three supersized episodes on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET, followed by two new episodes on Thursday, Jan. 15, and one new episode weekly through the finale and reunion event on February 26. This means the entire season is over in just 8 weeks. Season 2 and Season 3 lasted nine weeks. Most networks would want to extend a season for more views or ratings, but one can only assume Peacock’s data must tell them the opposite is more ideal for their purposes.
“The Traitors” dominated the Emmys in September, winning five trophies, including Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program (Cumming), Outstanding Reality Competition Program, Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program, Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program. The series also won the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Reality, and led this year’s Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards, earning three awards: Best Competition Series, Best Ensemble Cast in an Unscripted Series, and Best Show Host.
A fifth season of the current celebrity “Traitors” format has been confirmed for Peacock, as well as a non-celebrity edition for NBC in either late 2026 or 2027.
The cast has been public since last June, but in case you missed the reality celebrities and public figures vying for up to $250,000 (outside of their negotiated appearance salaries) are:
