Tom Hardy & His Dog Are Going To Read Bedtime Stories To Your Children Later This Month

Tom Hardy may be known for such macho, tough-guy roles in films such as “Bronson,” “Inception,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Warrior,” “The Dark Knight Returns,” and “The Revenant,” but did you know he’s also an accomplished bedtime story reader? Well, after appearing as part of the BBC children’s TV channel, CBeebies, where he read a story several years back that ended up becoming a bit of a viral hit. And now, it seems that he’s joining forces with the British series again to read some more bedtime stories to little kids (and plenty of adults).

According to CBeebies, Hardy will be joined by his dog (Can this get any cuter? Seriously?) to help read stories each night beginning on April 27. The stories include “Hug Me” by Simona Ciraolo, “Under The Same Sky” by Robert Vescio and Nicky Johnston, “There’s A Tiger In The Garden” by Lizzy Stewart, “Don’t Worry, Little Crab” by Chris Haughton, and “The Problem With Problems” by Rachel Rooney and Zehra Hicks.

Previously, other stars have read stories for the program, including Chris Evans, David Tennant, Isla Fisher, and James McAvoy. But clearly, the fan-favorite (and for good reason!) is Tom Hardy.

The first story is “Hug Me,” and according to Deadline, he will begin the story by saying, “Hello. I’m Tom. Sometimes, on a day like this, I feel strong and happy. But on other days, I just need somebody to give me a hug. Tonight’s bedtime story is all about a little cactus called Felipe, who just wants a hug too,”

If you stop what you’re doing and listen closely, you can hear the population of the world squee in delight, followed by a heavy swoon, just from imagining those words coming from Tom Hardy’s mouth, as he’s joined by his dog, Blue.

Not to get carried away or anything, but Hardy and CBeebies may very well vaccinate the world and protect us from future COVID-19 outbreaks with this series of bedtime stories. Or, at the very least, provide some much-needed relief and calm during this ridiculous time.
