'Tony Hawk: Until The Wheels Fall Off' Trailer: Sam Jones' Upcoming SXSW Doc Arrives On HBO In April

Even if you’re not someone super familiar with skateboarding, you’ve likely heard the name Tony Hawk. For decades, Hawk’s name is synonymous with skateboarding and the public image of the entire sport. After winning tons of competitions, inventing tricks, a massively popular video game franchise, and more, Tony Hawk’s life and career is finally getting the spotlight in the new doc, “Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off.”

As seen in the trailer for “Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off,” the film follows the story of Hawk, from the time he was a young kid shocking the world with his skateboarding skills to becoming one of the most famous and influential athletes in the world. The project is expected to make its world debut at this year’s SXSW Film Festival. ‘Until the Wheels Fall Off’ is executive produced by Mel Eslyn, Jay Duplass, and Mark Duplass. The doc is directed by Sam Jones.

TONY HAWK: UNTIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF is a wide-ranging, definitive look at Hawk’s life and iconic career, and his relationship with the sport with which he’s been synonymous for decades. Hawk, born in San Diego, Calif., is a pioneer of modern vertical skating and one of the most influential skateboarders of all time. The documentary features unprecedented access, never-before-seen footage, and interviews with Hawk, and prominent figures in the sport including Stacy Peralta, Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Neil Blender, Andy MacDonald, Duane Peters, Sean Mortimer, and Christian Hosoi.
