Billie Lourd Says She Has A Bigger Role In 'Star Wars: Episode 8,' Adam Driver Calls The Script "Remarkable"

It definitely feels a bit trivial to talk about Rian Johnson‘s “Star Wars: Episode VIII” as the world sends its love to Carrie Fisher who remains in hospital following a heart attack during the Christmas holidays, but it’s a reminder just how beloved both the actress and her iconic turn as Princess Leia remain to generations of moviegoers. And it’s a magic touch that is being passed down with her daughter Billie Lourd, who stepped into the “Star Wars” universe in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Granted, the role was small, but according to Lourd, she’ll be much more involved in the upcoming saga entry.

“Lieutenant Connix is back,” she told BUILD (via Yahoo). “You might not know her name, but you should now… Connix is back and better than ever.”

The actress also confirmed she’ll have more than one line adding, “I might get arrest[ed] now. Sorry Rian.” See the full conversation with Lourd below.

Meanwhile, Adam Driver — who has already stoked anticipation about the apparent tonal shift in the upcoming movie — once again praises the work of his director on ‘Episode VIII.’

“He’s a brilliant filmmaker. And he wrote the script also, and he understands the importance of ambiguity and nuance. He wrote something that I think is remarkable,” he told The Daily Beast.

“Star Wars: [Title Is Still A Secret]” opens on December 15, 2017.
