Zack Snyder Talks The Evolution Of Wonder Woman In 'Justice League'

As one fellow Playlister recently said about Zack Snyder: “Sometimes I think he just talks and doesn’t know what he is saying.” Indeed, it can often seem like the director can toss around the right buzzwords, but when he tries to explain things like Batman’s hyper violence or killing off Jimmy Olsen in “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice,” Snyder doesn’t seem to have much complexity to his reasoning. And it’s why his recent thoughts on Wonder Woman seem a bit mangled.

Speaking with USA Today, the filmmaker explained how the superhero will change across two films this year — “Wonder Woman” and “Justice League” — and it’s something about learning that humans are complicated.

“[Wonder Woman finds out] humanity isn’t always the most kind and awesome thing,” he said. “It has its moments, but it can be brutal, and her coming to terms with that dichotomy is what we come to learn about her. And in ‘Justice League,’ she’s fully evolved into someone who’s embraced mankind, partly through Superman’s sacrifice. She’s like, ‘All right, I’ve got to pick it up.’ ”

Again, it all sounds sort of thoughtful, but we’ll see how this translates in the actual movies.

“Wonder Woman” arrives on June 2, and “Justice League” lands on November 17th.
