11 TV Shows To Watch In October: 'Daredevil,' 'Sabrina,' 'The Romanoffs' & More

While the rulebook for when to launch a TV series has been thrown out the window in the era of Peak TV, the fall months remain some of the busiest with both returning favorites and new potentially binge-worthy series. October see’s a lot for both streaming and cable services with too many to even include on the list. Those left off but worth noting include the return of The CW superhero series “Black Lightning,” “The Flash” and “Arrow” along with another returning shows such as Showtime’s Ray Donovan,” NBC’s brilliant “The Good Place,” AMC’s The Walking Dead” and AMC’s Fresh off the Boat.” New series include Netflix’s Wanderlust” and Hulu’s Into the Dark.”

But, alas, we had to narrow the list to 11, and here’s what we feel like are the best bets for TV in October:

Big Mouth
Synopsis: Teenage friends find their lives upended by the wonders and horrors of puberty.
What You Need To Know: Boasting a cast full of the who’s who of the comedy world plus with a successful first season under their belt, it’s no surprise that “Big Mouth” is one of Netflix’s most anticipated comedy series when it returns this month.  Created by close friends Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, the series reflects on their days growing up as teens in their 1980s New York suburb.  Struggling with puberty alongside the relatable trials and tribulations of high school, “Big Mouth” is both charming and wildly hilarious.  With Kroll acting as executive producer as well as voicing the title character of Nick, the show’s cast of characters also includes John Mulaney, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, Jordan Peele, Jessi Klein, Jenny Slate, and Jason Mantzoukas.
Release Date: October 5th on Netflix

Star Wars Resistance
Synopsis: Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot for the Resistance, is tasked with a top secret mission to investigate the First Order, a growing threat in the galaxy.
What You Need to Know: While everyone is growing fatigued of franchise-heavy media, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Rebels” were some of the most exciting and innovative spin-offs from the original “Star Wars” canon we’ve ever seen, meaning any animated continuation is going to be worth paying attention to. Sporting a different, sleeker visual style (more in tune with its home at Disney) but from the same creative minds as the former two, “Star Wars Resistance” is a must-see for both animation and “Star Wars” fans.

The Haunting of Hill House
Synopsis: “The Haunting of Hill House” explores a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past.
What You Need to Know: Based on the novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson, “The Haunting of Hill House” is the latest original series to hit Netflix, made all the timelier due to it’s October debut and horror mythos.
