'1899' Trailer: The Creators Of 'Dark' Return With A New Supernatural Mystery Series In November

Well before “Squid Game” took the world by storm and proved that international content isn’t just big on Netflix but could be the biggest stuff around, there was “Dark,” the German series that became an international hit on the streaming service, despite the language barrier. Now, the creators of “Dark” are returning to Netflix with a new supernatural series, “1899.”

As seen in the trailer for “1899,” the series isn’t another “Yellowstone” spinoff. No, it’s an incredibly dark (literally and figuratively) series about a group of passengers on a trans-Atlantic boat journey that takes an unexpected detour. Why the detour? Well, they stumbled across the remains of another ship that was assumed sunk. Instead, what they find is a lot scarier and unexpected.

“1899” is created by the duo of Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. The cast includes Emily Beecham, Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Pietschmann, Miguel Bernardeau, Maciej Musiał, and Anton Lesser.
