Got a Tip?

Andrea Riseborough Will Get Scared With Alexander Skarsgard In Horror Flick ‘The Hidden’

nullRising Brit actress Andrea Riseborough spent most 2011 out of the multiplex and in the arthouse, with a number of pics unspooling at festivals including Madonna's "W.E.," James Marsh's espionage tale "Shadow Dancer," and the alternate history WWII tale "Resistance." Big things are on the horizon with roles in a handful of promising efforts including the James McAvoy led action flick "Welcome To The Punch" and Tom Cruise's sci-fi number "Oblivion," and now she's knocking "horror movie" off her to-do list.

The actress will join the previously cast "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard in "The Hidden" for Warner Bros. Written and directed by Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer, whose script made the Black List last year, details are being kept under wraps, but the film will tell the story of a family who retreates to a bomb shelter after some kind of mysterious outbreak. While this is their feature, the Duffer duo first caught the attention of many with their short “Eater” in 2007, which follows a police station in the dead of night that’s being stalked by a cannibal. So they know how to drum up the scares.

We hope this isn't just a single location, shaky fright flick movie and there is something more to it — perhaps a psychological bent "Take Shelter" style. We definitely like the two leads, and will be curious to see them in some hardcore genre fare. The picture isn't greenlit yet, but with the two leads in place, it's pretty much a formality at this point. [Variety]
