Got a Tip?

‘The Last Airbender’ Razzie Leader “Winning” Worst Picture, Director, Screenplay & Use Of 3D

Just as Hollywood gets set to honor the best of 2010 tonight, the Razzies paid their own tribute to the worst and topping the “winners” was certainly one the year’s most egregious entries.

M. Night Shyamalan‘s post-converted, woodenly acted and dreadfully boring “The Last Airbender” swept many of the major categories, earning Razzies for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Screenplay and Worst Most Eye-Gouging Mis-Use Of 3D — no argument from us on any of those counts. While we can argue about other terrible films that deserved “recognition” (for this writer, “Grown Ups” was offensively bad on a level even ‘Airbender’ failed to reach), Shyamalan did himself no favors with a picture that was misguided on nearly every front. The other big “winner” was “Sex And The City 2,” all four leads took home the distinction of Worst Actress, the rest of the cast didn’t escape notice either helping to land the film Worst Ensemble while the film itself was labeled Worst Sequel.

So before tonight celebrates the best, here’s a reminder of the dreck that Hollywood is also capable of serving up. Full list of “winners” below. [Razzies]
