Vin Diesel’s ‘Kojak’ Movie Gets Another Writer On The Case, ‘Last Witch Hunter’ Sequel In The Works

nullWhile it’s not a surprise that Universal is eager to see if they make Vin Diesel‘s "Fast & Furious" money printing magic happen in other movies, history suggests audiences don’t always follow the actor to other films that don’t involve him driving a car. But $1.5 billion in bank for "Furious 7" ain’t nothing to sneeze at, and Universal hopes to mount another franchise around Diesel.

A few years back it was announced that "Skyfall" writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were going to put their pens to a big screen version of the classic TV series "Kojak." And things have been quiet since, but the project has new forward momentum with Variety reporting that Philip Gawthorne ("EastEnders," "Waterloo Road") hired to take a new crack at the screenplay. Basically, development continues, but we’ll see if all the pieces come together for this to roll in front of cameras.

Meanwhile, the actor’s next movie is pretty terrible looking "The Last Witch Hunter," but as he usually is on Facebook, Diesel is pumped, and he recently told fans that Summit is so stoked on the movie, "that they are already commencing on the next one [and] yet they want me to commit and already block out time to film it." Huh. Let’s see if ticket buyers are as excited.
