Got a Tip?

Disney CEO Says Marvel Studios Will Announce Phase 4 Films “Later This Summer”

Even though a casual Marvel Cinematic Universe fan might watch “Avengers: Endgame” and think that the story has been wrapped up, that’s most definitely not the case. Disney has one of the most successful films of all time and the most successful franchise ever seen. You don’t think the Mouse House is going to let those characters sit around forever, right? Not a chance. And now, all we can do is wait for the next slate of films to be announced by Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios.

And according to a recent Investors Call from Disney, CEO Bob Iger says the announcement of the next grouping (or Phase) of Marvel Studios projects will be coming this summer.

While no official date was revealed, the Disney CEO said he’s “guessing they will announce later this summer.” He also said that if you watched “Avengers: Endgame,” then “there were a lot of clues in that film as to movies that may be coming.”

We have recently written a detailed explanation for all the films that we know will be coming down the pipeline. As mysterious as Marvel Studios usually is, the upcoming “Phase 4” can be pieced together rather easily, if you use reports, speculation, and a healthy amount of common sense.

So, what’s likely is that Marvel Studios will wait until San Diego Comic-Con or perhaps another private event, like last time, to announce the upcoming films. And those announced films will likely consist of “Black Widow,” “The Eternals,” “Black Panther 2,” “Shang-Chi,” and a few others. What is probably not going to be announced is anything relating to the ‘X-Men’ franchise. That is, unless Feige has a “Deadpool 3” trick up his sleeve.

“Avengers: Endgame” is in theaters now, followed by “Spider-Man: Far From Home” on July 2. After that? We’ll just have to wait and see.
