The Walt Disney Company reported its first quarter earnings of 2024 on Wednesday, and Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger made several surprise announcements. For one, as you probably already read, a surprise “Moana 2” is not only coming, it’s nearly ready, and dated for November 2024. “Zootopia 2” was also dated for fall 2025, and Disney confirmed the title of Fede Alvarez’s next ‘Aliens’ movie as “Alien: Romulus.” Iger noted several “significant announcements that represent important and exciting steps forward.” Among them were also unexpected announcements about “Frozen 3,” “Toy Story 5,” and the confirmation that the Lucasfilm movie “The Mandalorian & Grogu” will be the first “Star Wars” theatrical film to arrive in 2026.

No dates were given out for any of these three titles, but given Disney’s massive TBD release date slot, we’ve penciled in what we feel are viable dates that the company already has locked down as UNTITLED Disney or UNTITLED Pixar movies below. Lucasfilm currently has two available 2026 dates currently available, so the film could either arrive in May 2025 or December 206.
Iger also announced that Disney+ would become the exclusive streaming home of Taylor Swift’s historic concert film, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” on March 15, which is clearly a big coup for the streamer.
Iger revealed that “Moana” was “originally developed as a series, but we were impressed with what we saw, and we knew it deserved a theatrical release,” he added. “The original ‘Moana’ film from 2016 recently crossed 1 billion hours streamed on Disney+ and was the most streamed movie of 2023 on any platform in the U.S.”
“Moana 2” – 11/27/24
“Zootopia 2” – 11/26/25
“Frozen 3” – TBD 2026 (very likely 11/25/26)
“Toy Story 5” – TBD 2026 very (likely 6/19/26)
“The Mandalorian And Grogu” – 5/22/26 or 12/18/26
While Iger did mention Disney will be reducing volume and output at Marvel Studios, Marvel’s future schedule remains unchanged for now, still four films scheduled for 2025 and 2026, and despite rumors that ‘Kang Dynasty’ would abandon its title after ousting Jonathan Majors in the title role, so far, Disney is sticking with it. However, Iger only mentioned “Captain America: Brave New World” and “Fantastic Four” as 2025 titles, so speculation is already brewing that “Thunderbolts” and “Blade” could be delayed, but for now, Marvel is sticking with what they’ve already announced.
“Captain America: Brave New World” – 2/14/25
“Thunderbolts” – 7/25/25
“Fantastic Four” – 5/5/25
“Blade” – 11/7/25
“Avengers: Kang Dynasty”- 5/1/26
“Avengers: Secret Wars” – 5/7/27
