'About Time' Soundtrack Features The Killers, The Cure, Amy Winehouse, Nick Cave & More

With Richard Curtis‘ upcoming romantic comedy adding a little time travel tweak to the proceedings, it perhaps follows that the accompanying soundtrack is a bit scattershot. There isn’t much in the way of contemporary hits, but whatever was rockin’ your dial a few years ago—or even a few decades ago—has made its way into the movie.

Feeling like some sugary, manufactured pop? This forthcoming disc has you covered with tunes by Russian one-hit wonders t.A.T.u (guess which song?) and Brit sensations Sugababes. The Cure and Nick Cave bring some veteran experience to the table, while The Killers, Ellie Goulding and Amy Winehouse (R.I.P.) bring it home for the kids. Ben Folds reminds everyone he’s still around with a new version of “The Luckiest” while we’re just glad to see Ron Sexsmith in the mix as well.

“About Time” opens on September 6th in the U.K. and November 1st in the U.S., with the soundtrack dropping across the pond on September 2nd. We’d reckon a U.S. version is in the works too, but no details on that just yet. [ContactMusic]
