'A Man In Full’: Regina King To Direct New Netflix Series From ‘Big Little Lies’ Creator David E. Kelley

Regina King has made a big name for herself as one of the best actors working today. But with the release of this year’s “One Night in Miami,” King has become one of the most in-demand filmmakers, as well. And it appears she has decided to link up with David E. Kelley for a new Netflix series, “A Man in Full.”

According to Variety, David E. Kelley is set to write, produce, and showrun the upcoming Netflix series, “A Man in Full.” And he has already signed Regina King to direct at least half of the six episodes. The series is based on the Tom Wolfe novel of the same name and follows Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker as he defends his empire from competing political and business interests as he faces financial ruin.

Obviously, it’s too early to know if King will show up in the cast, but as of now, she is confirmed as directing the first three episodes and will also lend her executive producer skills to the Netflix series.

“All I can say is when David E. Kelley calls, you just say yes,” King said. “I know this partnership will produce something special.”

Kelley added, “A passion project for me, no doubt. The opportunity to tackle Tom Wolfe’s brilliant and prescient novel, to have Regina helming — I could not be more excited.”

Kelley is one of the biggest names in TV, having written a ton of series over the course of his decades-long career. Most recently, he’s the man behind series such as “Big Little Lies,” “The Undoing,” and “Nine Perfect Strangers,” just to name a few.

A release date for “A Man in Full” has yet to be announced.
