Who would have thought that Jim Halpert from “The Office” would make one of the most terrifying horror films of 2018? Well, the Abbott family is back in “A Quiet Place: Part 2” as staying quiet will keep them from getting hunted.
Directed by John Krasinski, the film will see the Abbott family continue through the post-apocalyptic world without making a sound as monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing are there hunting them down.

While Krasinski was a feature in the first film, he will be sticking to a role behind the camera and his butt firmly planted in the director’s chair. However, the likes of Emily Blunt (“Edge Of Tomorrow”), Millicent Simmonds (“Wonderstruck”), and Noah Jupe (“Wonder”) are all set to make returns in the *silent* sequel.

In an interview Krasinski did DenOfGeek back in 2018, he explained how he created his vision for the first “A Quiet Place.” He said, “I had a personal experience that I think I’ve benefited from not being so well-versed in horror. Now, I am. But when I was watching all these horror movies to prepare for directing this, instead of going in and trying to steal techniques and things, I was so ignorant to all the techniques that I basically just used myself as a barometer and said, “What scares me? What impacted me? What little things work on me?””
Diving headfirst into a genre you are not particularly well-versed in is a challenge, but Krasinski proved that his horror film got people scared because he used things that would scare him. The question is will he be able to replicate that success for the sequel, he will need to find new ways to scare the audience because repetition does become flat.

Joining next year’s silent fright night includes Djimon Hounsou (“Spider-Man: Homecoming”), Cillian Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”), and Wayne Duvall (“Lincoln”).

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
