A beautiful young woman taking a deadly turn in a Robert Rodriguez movie? Get out of here! But believe us, it's true.
Amber Heard is the latest beauty to get some dirt under her fingernails, joining the growing cast of "Machete Kills." Starring Danny Trejo (of course,) Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Mel Gibson and Demian Bichir, the story will find Machete hired by the U.S. government to hunt down a billionaire/arms dealer (Gibson) who wants to launch a missile to start a global war. Heard will be playing a manipulative assassin who goes by the name of Miss San Antonio. Of course, Heard is no stranger to mixing it up in genre fare, and is something of a staple in the field (even if many of those films haven't been that great). So hopefully she'll have a bit more to do here than look hot and carry a gun.
Filming on the movie gets underway soon and we presume there are still more names to be announced. As for Heard, this is another project on her busy docket this summer, which also includes the forever-developing "Motor City" for director Albert Hughes co-starring Gary Oldman and Gerard Butler.
