Though perhaps not on the scale of Ridley Scott, Martin Scorsese also tends to put his name to projects that sometimes disappear down the rabbit hole of development never to be seen again. And so it’s not quite surprising that four years after "Silver Ghost" was first announced, not much was heard about it. But the project is now back on track, with a director going behind the camera for the Scorsese produced joint.

"Amy" and "Senna" director Asif Kapadia will helm the project that will detail the origins of the Rolls-Royce, and likely also detail Rolls-Royce collaborator Lord Montagu of Beaulieu’s affair with his secretary, Eleanor Thornton, who was the model for the signature Rolls-Royce hood ornament, “The Spirit of Ecstasy.”
Fun fact: many years ago, this movie almost happened with Christian Bale starring, and Lord Richard Attenborough directing. The late filmmaker’s production company is still involved, but there’s no word yet on when filming will begin. [Variety]
