What’s next for Aubrey Plaza? Variety reports that it may be one of her most salacious roles yet, starring as Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss in “The Heidi Fleiss Story.” What’s more, up-and-coming talent Rachel Sennott pens the script for the project with Rachel and Travis Jackson. A Plaza-Sennott collaboration? That’s music to the ears of Gen-Z.

Set before Fleiss’ infamous 1995 trial for pandering and tax evasion, “The Heidi Fleiss Story” follow Plaza’s madam as she scrambles around LA in a desperate attempt to get the case dropped with the help of Jaclyn, an aspiring young writer. Would Sennott fit that other role? Maybe, but it’s not confirmed if she’ll star opposite Plaza. At the time, Fleiss ran the largest high-end prostitution ring in Los Angeles, an operation that implicated Hollywood power players, politicians, and others. In that case, expect the gender and class dynamics of this project to be completely off the rails.
Leah Rachel will make her directorial debut on “The Heidi Fleiss Story,” with Jessamine Burgum and Kara Durrett producing via Pinky Promise. Plaza also produces via her Evil Hag banner. Additional casting for the project is currently underway, with plans to shoot in LA later this year.
Plaza adds “The Heidi Fleiss Story” to a list of upcoming projects that includes “Animal Friends,” “The Ark And The Aardvark,” and “The Accompanist.” Recent roles for the actress include “Megalopolis,” the Disney+ series “Agatha All Along,” and 2024 Sundance favorite “My Old Ass.” Plaza is in theaters next in Ethan Coen‘s “Honey Don’t!” opposite Margaret Qualley and Chris Evans.
“The Heidi Fleiss Story” is another buzzy project for Pinky Promise. Recent projects for five-year-old banner include Andrea Arnold‘s “Bird,” “The Last Showgirl,” and “The Starling Girl,” among others. Other upcoming projects include “Wishful Thinking” with Lewis Pullman and Maya Hawke, and the theatrical release of Scarlett Johansson‘s directorial debut “Eleanor The Great,” starring June Squibb.
Stay tuned for more details on “The Heidi Fleiss Story,” which could easily become one of the buzzier projects of 2026.
