The days are counting down to Halloween, which means horror movies will be on the braaaaains. But so too will horror comedies, and while Netflix is ready to send a chill up your spine this month with David Fincher‘s “Mindhunter” and the new season of “Stranger Things,” they’re going to try and make you have a bloody good time too.
Formerly a project that was going to be a big screen release courtesy of New Line, Netflix snapped up “The Babysitter” from the major studio. Penned by Brian Duffield (“Insurgent“), the script landed on the 2014 Black List, with the horror-comedy following a kid (Judah Lewis from “Demolition“) who has a massive crush on his babysitter (Samara Weaving) only to discover she’s actually a in a Satanic cult with her pals played by Robbie Amell, Bella Thorne, Andrew Bachelor, and Hana Mae Lee. Okay, could be simple, dumb fun but the fly in the ointment here is director McG who gets behind the camera for this picture. Need we remind you, his previous films include “This Means War,” “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” and “Terminator Salvation.”
