Odds are, you either love Showtime’s hit series “Billions” or you have yet to watch it. Of all the shows that end up getting recommended during this era of Peak TV, few come close to the number of times I’ve heard “You watch ‘Billions?’ You really should!” And now, as the series enters its fourth season, with a premiere date now known, it would appear that I have enough time to binge the series and be part of the conversation.

For those that don’t know about “Billions,” Showtime is nice enough to release a new trailer for the upcoming fourth season that serves as a nice teaser for why viewers absolutely adore this series. Long story short, “Billions” tells the story of two men and their quest for power and money. Led by the incredible acting talents of Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, the show is consistently touted as one of the best around.

Judging by the teaser, the latest season sees Axelrod and Rhoades, previous enemies, teaming up against a mutual threat – Taylor, played by Asia Kate Dillon. And since I’ve never seen an episode, I’m sure this means a lot to long-time fans, but for me, “Billions” looks like a pretty great exploration of wealth, power, and politics, which is sure to be a delightful, thrilling, and timely (if not horrifying) ride.

The series comes from the minds of writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien, as well as Andrew Ross Sorkin.

Season 4 of “Billions” is set to premiere on March 17, 2019.

Here’s the synopsis:

Emmy® and Golden Globe® winners Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis star in a complex drama about power politics in the world of New York high finance. Shrewd, savvy U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) and the brilliant, ambitious hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis) are on an explosive collision course, with each using all of his considerable smarts, power and influence to outmaneuver the other. The stakes are in the billions in this timely, provocative series. BILLIONS is created and executive produced by showrunners Brian Koppelman and David Levien. The series was also created by Andrew Ross Sorkin.
