Cannes Critics’ Week 2016 Lineup Includes Films By Chloë Sevigny, Nadav Lapid, And More

KittyWith the Cannes Film Festival unveiling their lineup last week, the sidebars are opening the curtain on what they’ll be offering away from the main show, and the Cannes Critics’ Week has revealed their first wave of programming.

The festival will feature limited American movies in its lineup this year, at least so far, with only Chloë Sevigny‘s short "Kitty" marking a stateside flick. Instead, there is a very strong international flavor, with Nadav Lapid ("The Policeman," "The Kindergarten Teacher") perhaps the biggest filmmaker of note, and he’ll be sitting on the jury as well as screening "From The Diary Of A Wedding Photographer" out of competition. Otherwise, it’s a mix of movies from filmmakers who will be arriving in France, hoping to become the next names to explode at the arthouse.

The Cannes Critics’ Week runs from May 12-20.
