Casting: Chris Hemsworth Heals In 'I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive,' Theo James Leads 'Underworld' Redo & More

Chris Hemsworth I'll Never Get Out Of The World AliveThe Tom Hiddleston-starring Hank Williams biopic "I Saw The Light" is coming up, but it won’t be the only movie revolving around the country legend. Loki’s foil Thor, aka Chris Hemsworth, will produce and star in "I’ll Never Get Out Of The World Alive," based on the novel by rocker Steve Earle. It’s the fictional story of "Toby ‘Doc’ Ebersole, who’s haunted by the ghost of Hank Williams following his involvement in the country singer’s mysterious death in 1953. After his medical license is revoked, the story picks up 10 years later in the red-light district of San Antonio, Texas, where Doc supports his morphine habit by performing illegal medical procedures. Hank’s ghost serves a demented Jiminy Cricket, visiting Doc often whether he’s wanted or not." Benjamin Grayson will make his directorial debut on the movie, named after Williams’ famous final single. The "Underworld" franchise is being rebooted, and so instead of a latex-clad Kate Beckinsale, we’ll now have a latex-clad Theo James. Or something. The "Divergent" actor, seen in "Underworld: Awakening," will now lead the franchise, with two more female characters to be cast (sorry, Beckinsale probably won’t be back). Cory Goodman ("Priest," "The Last Witch Hunter") is writing the script, but no word on who will direct. [THR]

Model/actress Cara Delevigne (who’s quite good in Michael Winterbottom‘s "The Face Of Angel"), has joined Nat Wolff in "Paper Towns." Jake Schreier will direct the adaptation of "The Fault In Our Stars" author John Green‘s book that centers on "Quentin, who is left with a set of clues by the mysterious girl next door after she disappears." [The Wrap]

Leslie Mann is going on "Vacation" with Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, Charlie Day and Elizabeth Gillies in the comedy franchise film. This time around it will be Rusty Griswold’s family on the road, with Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo making cameo appearances. Production kicks off next week. [The Wrap]

Ben Foster is joining Chris Pine, Casey Affleck and Holliday Grainger in true story drama "Finest Hours." Craig Gillespie directs the story about "a rescue attempt by the Coast Guard in 1952 after pair of oil tankers are destroyed during a blizzard." Filming is underway. [Variety]

Alec Baldwin and Danny Glover are the surprising leads of “Andron,” a sci-fi, action adventure movie from AMBI Pictures Group, the movie development, finance, production and distribution group owned and run by Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi. Franceso Cinquemani wrote the script and will direct the film that begins when a group of young men and women awake in a dark, claustrophobic maze. They don’t remember who they are or how they got stuck in the black labyrinth of ANDRON. The group must learn to decipher codes, understand the signals, and beat the tests in this mysterious and bizarre place. Out of necessity they struggle to form a bond to survive, while the outside world watches and wages on their fate. Isn’t this also known as "The Maze Runner"? Anyway, filming starts this month and Skin from Skunk Anansie is in the cast so, there’s that going for it too….
