'Chambers' Trailer: Netflix’s Newest Horror Series Stars Uma Thurman, Tony Goldwyn, & Newcomer Sivan Alyra Rose

Horror films have used the plot device of an organ transplant for years. Playing on the unease that comes from one body accepting the working organ of another (dead) body is easy fodder for genre films. And in the new Netflix series “Chambers,” that’s the premise that gets the story going, but what happens next is very, very creepy.

In the first trailer, we meet young Sasha, a woman who just experienced an unexpected heart attack and was given a new heart from a recently deceased woman. When Sasha and her dad go and visit the dead girl’s parents, they become entangled in a weird, supernatural web that changes them forever. Is Sasha becoming infected with the dead girl’s memories? Are the new people in her life really out to do good and help? And perhaps most disturbing and troubling, did she actually just chop the tail off a mouse when she was cutting up a hot dog? Eesh.

“Chambers” creator Leah Rachel described the series, in quite colorful terms, “Taking place in a mystic, New Age pocket of Arizona, Chambers is a psychological horror story that explores the different ways we metabolize trauma. But what starts out as a grounded human story eventually pivots into something far more strange and fucked up than you were expecting.”

The series stars Uma Thurman alongside Tony Goldwyn, Sivan Alyra Rose, Lilliya Reid, Nicholas Galitzine, Kyanna Simone Simpson, Lilli Kay, Sarah Mezzanotte, and Griffin Powell-Arcand.

“Chambers” hits Netflix on April 26.

Here’s the synopsis:

A young heart attack survivor becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister.
