As the saga around “The Batman” continues to unfold, lets go back to the halcyon days of 2005, when a filmmaker who was still proving his chops, Christopher Nolan, was given a modest budget and the keys the franchise. The result? One of the greatest Batman movies ever made.
Screen Junkies take a look at “Batman Begins” in their latest Honest Trailer, and as they rightly declare, this is one movie that got The Dark Knight just right. Oh sure, some of the plotting might be a bit ridiculous, especially out of context (the whole fear juice stuff is a bit of a stretch), but overall, Nolan nails the balance of grittiness and superhero blockbuster expectations. And course, the movie laid the foundation for the rest of the trilogy, and launched a career where he can now pretty much make whatever the hell he wants. Not too bad.
