“Collective” shows the danger of what can happen when a government values profit over human lives. The documentary is being released in a morbidly timely fashion. The US is politically divided now, perhaps more than ever, and is ramping up for an incredibly divisive election, with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as one of the major platforms for each candidate. The documentary was directed by Alexander Nanau (“The World According to Ion B.“). It was produced by Hanka Kastelicová (“When the War Comes“), Bernard Michaux (“Tel Aviv on Fire“), Nanau, and Bianca Oana (“Touch Me Not“). Take a look at the official synopsis for “Collective”:

Directed by Alexander Nanau (“Toto and His Sisters”), COLLECTIVE follows a heroic team of journalists as they uncover shocking, widespread corruption. After a deadly nightclub fire, the mysterious death of the owner of a powerful pharmaceutical firm, and the quiet resignation of a health minister—seemingly unrelated events, all within weeks of each other—the team of intrepid reporters exposes a much larger, much more explosive political scandal. COLLECTIVE is a fast-paced, real-time detective story about truth, accountability, and the value of an independent press in partisan times.

“Collective” drops in theaters and on-demand on November 20. Take a look at the new trailer below.
