Contest: Win Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross' Soundtrack For 'Patriots Day'

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are the Oscar winning duo who are perhaps best known for their work for David Fincher, scoring “The Social Network,” “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” and “Gone Girl.” But their latest effort sees them teaming with director Peter Berg for “Patriots Day,” and the Mark Wahlberg starring film centering on the tragic terrorist bombing at the 2013 Boston Marathon offered a unique challenge to the musicians.

“We hadn’t done a film that was experiential like this, and we’d never taken on any subject matter of this nature,” Reznor told Yahoo. “And that was part of the appeal. We wondered if we could work inside a big Hollywood picture like this, but color outside the lines in terms of what might be expected, and I think ultimately we succeeded.”

Indeed, there’s no mistaking that it’s Reznor and Ross across the twelve tracks on the soundtrack, and we want to give some lucky readers a chance to have their own digital copy.

To win, follow us on Facebook and Twitter, tweet: “I want to win Patriots Day from @ThePlaylist. #WinThePlaylistContest,” and include this link. Your final step: just email us your tweet, with your full name and address, and tell us what your favorite soundtrack from 2016 was. Good luck!

The “Patriots Day” soundtrack is out today via Lakeshore Records and you can stream it below. The film is now playing in theaters nationwide.

And there will be more from Reznor and Ross in the year ahead, as the pair have composed two hours of new music for Ken Burns’ forthcoming documentary “The Vietnam War.”
