While probably not on the minds of filmmakers at the time of production, there is something perhaps prophetic about a thriller concerning the dangers of miracle treatments, when Obamacare is coming under threat from the incoming commander-in-chief. That’s probably reading a bit too much into things, but Gore Verbinski‘s “A Cure For Wellness” may make you think twice about trying procedures that veer off the traditional path of medicine.

Starring Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth, and Jason Isaacs, the story follows a young CEO who discovers all is not right when he heads to a wellness spa boasting miracle cures. Here’s the official synopsis:
An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure.
