'Daredevil' Season 3 Trailer: New York City's Biggest Villain Is...Daredevil?

Nothing gets a superhero back in action like the return of a big baddie, and for Daredevil, that comes in the form of the iconic Wilson Fisk. After the end of Netflix’s “The Defenders,” we all knew they couldn’t get rid of Daredevil that easily. Matt Murdock is back, alive and somewhat-well for “Daredevil” Season 3, and hopefully his return from the dead will inspire the show to do the same.

Like a lot of superhero storylines, after the first movie, or in this case, season, it just seems like studios forget the characters are humans, not just drama fodder. Netflix is advertising this new season of Daredevil not exactly as a fresh start, but a rebirth of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he reevaluates his life, based on the arc “Born Again” in the Daredevil comics. Hopefully, this mindset and the return of Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) from the first season as the villain will give us something a bit more simple and real. Though, judging by the totally original tagline of Fisk’s advertised for this season, perhaps we shouldn’t get our hopes too high.

Returning along with Fisk and Murdock are Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Amy Rutberg as Marci Stahl. Rumors are also abounding of a new villain in the form of Wilson Bethel, playing the assassin Bullseye. And as seen in the new trailer, he’s definitely taking over one codename, at least. We can also play the game spot all the cameos while watching season 3, from mentions of Marvel’s big guys tearing up our theaters to the other superheroes with their own Netflix shows. Series creator Drew Goddard will be acting as a consultant, and Erik Oleson as the showrunner.

“Daredevil” Season 3 will be released Oct 19th on Netflix.
