'See': Dave Bautista Joins Jason Momoa For Season 2 Of Apple's Post-Apocalyptic Series

How do you fix a series that already features one muscle-y superhero film star and turn it into a bonafide hit? Well, if you’re Apple TV+ and the series is “See,” you add a second muscle-y superhero film star, obviously.

According to Deadline, the makers of the post-apocalyptic streaming series “See,” which stars Jason Momoa, have brought on Dave Bautista for Season 2. For those that didn’t catch “See” (and judging by the lackluster debut of Apple TV+, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that’s just about everyone reading this), the series stars Momoa as Baba Voss (yep, real name of the character), the leader of a group of humans in the post-apocalyptic world hundreds of years in the future where everyone is blind. Baba Voss steps up to lead the pack after his twins are born with the ability to…wait for it… see! (dun, dun, dunnnnnnn)

No word on who Bautista might play in the series, and honestly, I didn’t watch it, so I can’t even speculate. But based on my barebones understanding of the series, and my years of TV watching, I’m going to assume Bautista will be a bad guy that will prove to be a physical threat to Momoa and will likely die by the end of the season. You know, as they do with TV shows.

Bautista is making the leap to streaming TV after a bit of a hit-or-miss big-screen career so far. And by “hit-or-miss,” I mean that anytime he’s in a Marvel film, it’s a hit. But when he’s trying to do his own thing (“Stuber,” for example), it’s a big ol’ miss. (As shitty as that sounds, I don’t mean to throw shade at the actor. He’s actually really good in the MCU films, as well as his brief appearance in “Blade Runner 2049,” but I don’t think he’s really found his groove in his own films, just yet.)

“See” is one of the several series to kick off the Apple TV+ launch in November. And much like the rest of its launch brethren, the series received decidedly mixed reviews but was nevertheless picked up for a Season 2 because the streaming service is really desperate for content.
