‘Falcon & Winter Soldier’ Adds A New Cast Member & Lands An August Release Date

The launch of Disney+ in November kicked off with a bang, thanks to the love affair that the general public has with the studio’s library of family-friendly hits, including “Star Wars,” Pixar, and Marvel Studios entries, as well as the launch of new series such as “The Mandalorian.” However, as we begin 2020, the “Star Wars” series has wrapped up and there aren’t a ton of high-profile exclusives coming to the streaming service anytime soon. Thankfully, for Disney, Marvel is ready to move up the release of the studio’s first streaming offering, “The Falcon & The Winter Soldier.”

Originally slated for “Fall 2020,” ‘Falcon & Winter Soldier’ is reportedly (via Deadline) set to be released in August, giving Marvel Cinematic Universe fans something to be excited for in the late summer and Disney+ a sure-fire hit a bit earlier than expected. In addition to the release date being moved up a little bit, the Marvel Studios series is also adding Noah Mills to the cast.

Mills is an up-and-coming actor that is probably best known for his roles on two short-lived NBC dramas, “The Brave” and “The Enemy Within.” On the film side, his biggest role came in 2010 when he was featured in the cast of “Sex and the City 2.” The actor joins the already-announced cast that includes Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Desmond Chiam, and Miki Ishikawa.

Not much is known about the plot of the series, however, it is speculated that ‘Falcon & Winter Soldier’ will follow directly after the events of “Avengers: Endgame” with the idea of Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, coming to terms with being chosen as the next Captain America. The addition of Wyatt Russell to the cast, as US Agent, makes it clear that the conflict arises when the government appoints its very own Captain America, who might not have the same values and compassion as Falcon.

While we don’t know the exact date, fans can expect Disney+ to launch “The Falcon & The Winter Soldier” in August.
