First Look: 'Where The Wild Things Are' Teaser Poster; Mark Ruffalo Confirms His Role

Every few months, Spike Jonze and his crew will drop some pebble from “Where The Wild Things Are” as a promotional item (usually all types of very cool photos and each time the Interweb pretty much salivates like crazy, us included.

We can’t wait for his Dave Eggers’-penned adaptation of the Maurice Sendak book and now we’ve all been given another taste with the just launched teaser poster.

The film stars Catherine Keener Max Records and Mark Ruffalo, and the voice work of Lauren Ambrose, James Gandolfini, Catherine O’Hara and Forest Whitaker and reportedly, Chris Cooper.

Curiously enough, names once reported to be providing voices for ‘Wild Things,’ like Tom Noonan and Paul Dano, seem to have vanished from all the recent Warner Bros. press releases and info on the film. Does that mean like Michelle Williams their voices were replaced or are they just very small speaking parts?

BTW, when Mark Ruffalo was first announced as part of ‘Wild Things’ back in December, many of us were surprised to hear a name that had never been mentioned before. Many, including us, speculated that he would play the Catherine Keener’s boyfriend and an old interview we just found confirms this is true.

“I have a small part in it. But I play the boyfriend who is like stealing the quarters out of a change dish. I mean, that says everything about him, you know.”

The feature-film adaptation of the classic children’s book hits theaters on October 16. [ComingSoon via SpikeJonze FanBlog]
