Gal Gadot Addresses Brett Ratner & 'Wonder Woman 2' Rumors

Justice League” opens this weekend, and it will likely lead once again to Warner Bros. and DC Films trying to figure out the right formula for superhero success. However, the silver lining of the franchise continues to be “Wonder Woman.” It’s the only movie released since “Man Of Steel” that has enjoyed both commercial and critical success, and Gal Gadot has become a fan favorite. But not everything is rosy as preparation for “Wonder Woman 2” gets underway.

Brett Ratner, who is now facing allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct, was a producer on this summer’s “Wonder Woman,” with his RatPac-Dune Entertainment co-financing the picture. Needless to say, no one wants his name associated with the followup, and it has been reported that Gadot is holding firm that if he’s still involved, she won’t be back to wield the golden lasso.

Speaking more recently with “Today,” the actress clarifies her position, but also suggests that getting Ratner off “Wonder Woman 2”  involves people above her pay grade.

“Everyone knows the way that I feel because I’m not hiding anything. But the truth is, there’s so many people involved in making this movie — it’s not just me — and they all echoed the same sentiments,” Gadot said. “Everyone knew what was the right thing to do. But there was nothing for me to actually come and say because it was already done before this article came out.”

Essentially, her feelings are reverberating through the falls of WB and DC, but untangling Ratner from the studio will likely take some legal maneuvering.

“Wonder Woman 2” opens on November 1, 2019.
