'Gone Girl' Sequel? Gillian Flynn Says Perhaps "At Some Point"

Gone GirlLast fall, David Fincher took audiences into the twisted world of Nick and Amy Dunne in "Gone Girl." On the surface level, the movie operated as a twisty whodunit, but underneath was a more complicated look at gender roles, sexual dynamics, the bitter taste of curdled expectations, and one sociopath who took things to the extreme. But is there more to tell about the Dunnes? The story ends with *spoiler* Nick reluctantly deciding to stay with Amy and help raise their child together (after Amy gets pregnant with Nick sperm, frozen at a fertility clinic) *end spoiler*, so there is a door left open for more. And author Gillian Flynn doesn’t rule out finding what happens to these characters.

"There could be a sequel at some point if everyone is game to get the gang back together, it could be really fun a few years from now to pick it up and see what those crazy Dunnes are up to a few years down the road and if they got on—not well I don’t think," she told The New York Daily News. But, there are some caveats.

"I would have to have the exact same people to do it—I would want Rosamund [Pike], Ben [Affleck] and Fincher to do it," she added.

So, what do you think? Do you want more of the Dunnes? We suppose Flynn can toss the idea Fincher’s way when they work together this year on HBO‘s "Utopia" (one of our 20 Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2015). Share your comments below.
