Hans Zimmer To Score 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix'

I have officially retired from the superhero business,” composer Hans Zimmer declared shortly after the release of “Batman v  Superman: Dawn Of Justice” and to be fair, he stayed true to his word. The composer busied himself working with Christopher Nolan and earned an Oscar nomination for “Dunkirk,” he brought his army synths over to “Blade Runner 2049” (which shoulda been nominated), and even worked on Sean Penn‘s disaster “The Last Face” and the Oscar-nominated “The Boss Baby.” However, the lure of superheroes has got its hold on Zimmer once again (and probably the fat stacks of cash that come with it).

Evan Peters revealed on the HappySadConfused podcast that “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” will feature the classic BRAAAAAAHMs from Zimmer’s mighty hand.

“I think the film is gonna be incredible. Hans Zimmer’s scoring it — I don’t know if I was supposed to say that or not. [Director] Simon [Kinberg] has surrounded himself with incredible people, and Simon knows this world better than anybody, so it was just cool to see him — he’s so happy and in his element in that world, and also being able to direct and guide everybody in this way. I was very happy for him and I think it’s gonna be great,” the actor said.

Well, that’s certainly an ear-opening development, and it promises to bring a new tone to the X-Men world, which can only be a good thing. The movie will add more to Zimmer’s superhero resume which also includes “Man Of Steel” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” and it’ll be interesting to see what he has up his sonic sleeves when “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” opens on November 2nd.
