'Here': Paul Bettany Joins Tom Hanks & Robin Wright In Robert Zemeckis' Upcoming Drama

The last time director Robert Zemeckis, writer Eric Roth, Tom Hanks, and Robin Wright got together to make a film, they created the Oscar-winning feature, “Forrest Gump,” back in 1994. Now, almost 30 years later, they’re ready to do it again for a new film, “Here,” and this time, they’ve decided to invite Paul Bettany along for the ride.

According to Deadline, Paul Bettany has joined Tom Hanks and Robin Wright in the cast of Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming drama, “Here.” The feature, written by Roth, is based on the graphic novel by Richard McGuire and tells the story of generations of people that live on one piece of land in New England over a long period of time.

As mentioned, Hanks, Wright, Zemeckis, and Roth last teamed up for “Forrest Gump,” so there is already plenty of buzz surrounding this new project. That said, Zemeckis hasn’t really had a massive hit in quite a while, with his most recent film (also starring Hanks), “Pinocchio,” receiving pretty terrible reviews when it was released earlier this month. So, it’s unclear if “Here” will revitalize the iconic filmmaker’s career.

Bettany is probably best known for his more recent work as Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, last seen in the series, “WandaVision.” More recently, he co-starred in the limited series, “A Very British Scandal.”

There’s no anticipated release date for “Here,” but this is definitely a project that could have awards aspirations when it is eventually released. We’ll just have to wait and see.
