Netflix is kicking off 2026’s thriller slate with the first trailer and key art for “His & Hers,” adapted from Alice Feeney’s best-selling novel and built around a small-town Georgia murder that becomes a marital standoff between a reporter and the detective on the case. Former TV anchor Anna Andrews, played by Tessa Thompson, has withdrawn from her life in Atlanta until she overhears talk of a killing in her hometown of Dahlonega and lunges at the story. Opposite her, Detective Jack Harper, played by Jon Bernthal, is unnerved by her sudden involvement and quickly starts to treat her as more than just a nosy journalist.

The trailer leans into the title’s split perspective: everyone in this town is a suspect, but the real tension comes from the fact that these two leads aren’t just circling each other professionally. Their shared history blurs the line between investigation and emotional reckoning, with the series promising “his” and “hers” versions of every event — and the sense that someone is always telling a lie.
Thompson, who also executive produces, frames the show as a dream genre project. Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, she says, “I am beyond elated to be collaborating with a filmmaker I have long admired and an incredible team to make a fresh offering in a genre that I can never get enough of. From the second I heard what Will was imagining doing with Alice Feeney’s brilliant book to the moment I visited the town where our story is set, I was hooked.”
Behind the camera, “His & Hers” is led by William Oldroyd, known for “Lady Macbeth” (2016), starring Florence Pugh, and his recent second feature “Eileen” (2023), with Dee Johnson as co-showrunner, and writer–executive producer Bill Dubuque. Executive producers also include Jessica Chastain, Kristen Campo, Kelly Carmichael, and Kishori Rajan, with Fifth Season, Campout Productions, Viva Maude, and Freckle Films serving as producers. The ensemble features Pablo Schreiber, Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Marin Ireland, and Poppy Liu.
