'Ingrid' Trailer: An Artist & Fashion Designer Escapes To Nature

We all have our histories, but sometimes you meet people and their stories are simply incredible. The titular “Ingrid” is just such a person, and in the upcoming documentary which will make its World Premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival, we’re lucky enough to get to step inside her fascinating world.

Directed by Morrisa Maltz, “Ingrid” introduces audiences to a woman who left Germany, came to the United States, and now lives a life of solitude out in nature. But that’s just the start of Ingrid’s tale. Here’s the official synopsis:

Ingrid tells the story of a prominent Dallas fashion designer in the 80s — who dropped her life and ran off to the woods in order to pursue a personal and creative one. She has since become a total hermit and spends her time, creating clay sculptures and art out of rocks from the nearby creek. Ingrid peels off the layers of this woman’s persona, questioning what would drive a successful Texas fashion designer to immerse herself in nature to create and become an entirely self-sufficient woman of the woods.

“Ingrid” will make its World Premiere at Slamdance on Saturday, January 20th at the Gallery, Treasure Mountain Inn. Check out our exclusive trailer below:
