Update: Jamie Foxx NOT Writing Big Screen 'Laverne & Shirley' For Jessica Biel & Jennifer Garner

Update: The Wrap has gotten in touch with Foxx’s agent through his publicist who says there is absolutely “no truth” to the story.

We’re not sure what has made Jessica Biel Garry Marshall’s latest muse, but in addition to starring in the recent “Love Actually” inspired “Valentine’s Day,” she’s been attached to his remake of the Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy film “State Of The Union” and being eyed to star alongside Jennifer Garner in the big screen version “Laverne & Shirley” which he will produce.

Speaking at the 18th Annual Night At Sardi’s Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s, Marshall revealed, “Jamie [Foxx] and I are trying to do it. He’s writing it. It’s a whole different modern day take on how they came up on the streets during difficult times. Laverne would be this very tough girl with a big ‘L’ tattooed on her arm. Jennifer Garner would play Laverne and Jessica Biel would play Shirley.” So we guess Garner will be channeling Sydney from “Alias.”

Foxx is apparently writing in roles for Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, the original stars of the show but asked Marshall to keep a lid on just what that will be for now. This yet another big screen TV show adaptation we don’t care about, but it is surprising that its attached some pretty big talent to what is ultimately a pretty trifling movie.
