Jennifer Lawrence Reflects On Two Year Break From Hollywood, Was “At Peace” About Possibly Not Coming Back

Actress Jennifer Lawrence is reflecting on her previous two-year break from Hollywood between the mutant superhero film “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” in 2019 (ended up a bit of a misfire) and wasn’t seen until Adam McKay‘s 2021 satirical doomsday flick “Don’t Look Up,” in which she co-starred with Leonardo DiCaprio.

While speaking on the extremely popular “The Graham Norton Show” (via Variety), Lawrence discussed the reasoning for the break to begin with, and was “at peace” if she simply didn’t come back or wasn’t wanted.

“I took a little time,” Lawrence told Norton during a recent appearance on the hit chat show. “I was working all of my twenties, and then I was like…’What’s out here? What’s going on?” When asked if she was worried that it would be tough to be welcomed back to Hollywood after the break, Lawrence responded with, “I was at peace with that possibility of that happening. [Hollywood] is a lot…I think I would have been [okay], but also I would’ve been really upset. I don’t know.”

There has also been another year between the releases of Lawrence’s raunchy comedy “No Hard Feelings” and her upcoming Lynne Ramsay-directed couple drama “Die My Love” that sees her co-starring alongside Robert Pattinson. Perhaps, we’ll see the actress consider working a little less frequently again, but she’s expected to reunite with DiCaprio soon on the Martin Scorsese ghost film “What Happens At Night,” which we’re hopeful could be similar in tone to something like “Shutter Island.”

Funny enough, speaking of Pattinson, during that appearance on “Norton,” Jennifer Lawrence mused about feeding her co-star food from her garbage can when he was over at her place. If you weren’t already aware, “Die My Love” arrives in theaters next month on November 7.
