At only 23 years old, it seem Juno Temple has done it all. She’s worked with everyone from Christopher Nolan to Paul W.S. Anderson to Gregg Araki to Noah Baumbach to Robert Rodriguez, and done everything from big budget tentpoles, to indies you might have not even heard of. And the actress continues to pursue her own unique path with yet another interesting career choice, and one picture we’re already looking forward to.
Daily Mail reports that Temple has been offered the a role opposite Carey Mulligan in “The Hunt” director Thomas Vinterberg‘s adaptation of the Tom Hardy classic “Far From The Madding Crowd.” The 1874 novel—brought to the big screen before in John Schlesinger‘s 1967 film starring Julie Christie, Terence Stamp, Peter Finch and Alan Bates, and on TV in mini-series form with 1998’s ITV production (among others)—tells the tale of Bathsheba Everdene (Mulligan) who is courted by three men: Gabriel Oak, a shepherd; Sergeant Troy, a handsome soldier; and William Boldwood, a farm owner.
Should scheduling and all those sorts of things get worked out, Temple would play the part of Troy’s former servant, Fanny Robin. The Daily Mail also suggests that Matthias Schoenaerts, offered the part of Gabriel, has gone ahead and accepted, though it seems locking down Troy and William is proving difficult (Matthew Goode was once rumored for the former). Things seems to still be slightly up in the air, but should it all work out, filming is aiming to start in September — which would be a great time to get some pre-sales done at TIFF….
